Interview with “June” author Tina McGilp

Waterford author Tina McGilp is the writer and illustrator of Cavern of Dreams Publishing’s new children’s release, June. Tina took the time to answer some questions regarding her book and her writing journey.

What inspired you to write June? It was my four grand kids that inspired me to write this book.JSC01

How many books have you published? This is my very first book.

What is the name of your most recent publication? The name of my book is June.

What is it about? It is about a little girl trying to find out what sort of thing she might be good at.

Where did the idea for your book come from? I came up with this idea because many children have talents or are athletic but we are all special in our own way, even if we don’t have a particular talent.

Why did you decide to publish your book? I published because I wanted to share this message with children.

How did you find Cavern of Dreams Publishing? I found Cavern of Dreams Publishing in the book store in Simcoe.

What is the most important lesson you have learned about the writing/publishing process? The lesson I learned about getting published is that there is a lot to learn!

What was the biggest obstacle in your writing/publishing journey? The biggest challenge was getting started.

Are you currently working on anything now? I am not currently working on anything.

What is your next writing goal? I hope to start a new book in the winter…I have some new ideas.

You can find June at the Cavern of Dreams Publishing online store, through the author,  at any of Cavern of Dreams Publishing’s booths at shows or events, and it will be available on Amazon by June 10th 2016!
